Jedz camp was on the Waianae end of the beach, the Mākaha hammahs with their lifted trucks in the deep white sand, gold chains and wahine and keiki holding it down.

The competitive spirit, egos and trash talk included, runs thick here. All friends, but no space given once the heat began. 

Jedz quiet nature, smooth style, and deft wave selection had him marching through the Alaia division. His 2nd place finish, as a goofy footer at a right hander despite the small waves and stacked heats, is simply amazing." - Kuhio Vellalos
